Terms of service

The service and who provides it
langweave is a service that keeps track of the words you can read in a language you are learning, so that an AI assistant you connect to it can write that much of its replies in that language. It is made of a web app at app.langweave.tech, a connector your assistant uses, and this website. It is provided by [legal name], a sole trader (autónomo) registered in Spain, NIF [number], [postal address] ("we", "us"). Your account, and the memory of what you know, are kept by lexmem, a separate service underits own terms. You accept these terms on lexmem's consent screen, which links them, when you allow langweave access to your lexmem account.
Accounts
You need a lexmem account to use langweave, and you must be at least 14 years old to use it. The account is created at lexmem when you sign up from the app, and you confirm your email address there before your first sign-in. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account. One person, one account.
The two plans
Free. You choose a language, add and mark words in the app, and your assistant reads your known and learning words and your progress. On Free, nothing from a conversation is sent to langweave or stored: your assistant sends only the language code and a bearer token.
Standard. Everything in Free, and your assistant also records the words it used and asks about words it is unsure of, so your vocabulary grows from your conversations, and it introduces new words as you go. On Standard, your assistant sends the target-language words it used or wants to look up, an event kind and an optional topic hint — never your prompts or its replies — and langweave stores them as your history and the word states worked out from it.
What each plan sends, tool by tool, is on the Plans page of the documentation.
Price and billing
Standard costs €4.99 / $4.99 a month. The checkout charges in euros or US dollars depending on where you are, and shows the final price, taxes included, before you pay. Standard is billed monthly in advance and renews automatically each month until you cancel.
The free month
Your first month of Standard is free. A card is required to start it. Unless you cancel before the month ends, it converts into a paid subscription and the first charge is made on the day it ends; Stripe emails you a reminder before that happens. The free month is offered once per account: if you have subscribed before, a new subscription starts paid.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time from the Billing page in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for (or at the end of the free month); until then you keep Standard. Afterwards your account moves to Free. Nothing is deleted: the words you knew and were learning stay in your profile, frozen as they were, and pick up where they left off if you subscribe again.
Payments and Stripe
Payments are handled by Stripe under its Managed Payments service, in which Link, LLC (a Stripe company) is the merchant of record: it sells you the subscription, charges your card, issues the invoice and the receipt, and handles refunds and disputes. Its termsapply to the payment, alongside these terms. Your card statement shows the charge asLINK.COM*. We never see or store your card details.
Your right of withdrawal (EU)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from a subscription within 14 days of starting it, without giving a reason. Because Standard is a digital service that begins as soon as you subscribe, the checkout asks you to agree to it starting immediately and to acknowledge that this affects your right of withdrawal: once you have agreed, withdrawing within the 14 days means paying for the part of the service already provided, and the right ends once the service has been fully provided. Withdrawing during the free month costs nothing. To withdraw, cancel on the Billing page and write tosupport@langweave.tech saying that you are withdrawing.
Refunds
Payments are refunded only in the cases these terms name: a withdrawal (above), a charge made in error (below), and an account or service we close (seeTermination). Otherwise cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Standard until the end of the period you paid for. If you were charged in error — twice, or after you cancelled — write to support@langweave.techwith the date of the charge and we will have it refunded. Refunds are issued by Stripe to the card you paid with. None of this limits a right you have under the law of the country you live in.
Acceptable use
Use langweave to learn a language. Do not:
- try to reach another person's account or data, or the systems langweave runs on;
- send it more automated traffic than an assistant serving one learner would;
- share your account or resell access to it;
- use it to break the law.
Termination
You can stop using langweave at any time, and delete your account and what is kept for it as the privacy policy describes. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, telling you why by email to the address on your lexmem account, sent through lexmem; if it was on Standard, the subscription is cancelled and the unused part of the period refunded. If we ever shut langweave down, we will give at least 30 days' notice the same way and refund any period paid for and not provided.
Limitation of liability
langweave is provided as it is. Your assistant decides what to write; we do not control its replies, and a word marked known is an estimate, not a certificate. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from langweave is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by Spanish law, and disputes go to the courts of Spain. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country and can also bring a claim in its courts.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will tell you by email to the address on your lexmem account, sent through lexmem, at least 30 days before the change takes effect and update the date at the top of this page. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then; a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
