Privacy policy

Who is responsible
The controller of the personal data langweave keeps is [legal name], a sole trader (autónomo) registered in Spain, NIF [number], [postal address]. For anything in this policy, write to privacy@langweave.tech.
Your account and your memory — what you know of each language — are not kept by langweave. They are kept by lexmem, a separate service at api.lexmem.techthat langweave reads and writes with your permission, underlexmem's own privacy policy. You agree to it when you create your account, which happens at lexmem. This policy covers what langweave itself does: billing, and weaving your memory into your assistant's replies.
What is collected, and where it lives
What langweave keeps, in its own database, which holds no email, name or password: the account id lexmem issued and when you first used langweave; which of your languages is active, the one woven when your assistant names none; and any weave settings you changed from their defaults. Nothing about a word.
What lexmem keeps for langweave, under its policy: your account — email, name, hashed password, sign-in sessions and the apps you connected — and your memory: the languages you enrolled in, each word's state worked out from a history of what happened to it, and that history. What reaches that history from your conversations depends on your plan. In these sentences "langweave" means both services, langweave and lexmem:
- On Free, nothing from a conversation is sent to langweave or stored: your assistant sends only the language code and a bearer token.
- On Standard, your assistant sends the target-language words it used or wants to look up, an event kind and an optional topic hint — never your prompts or its replies — and langweave stores them as your history and the word states worked out from it.
- On either plan, the words you add or mark in the app yourself are stored, because you typed them there.
How this is enforced — which tools exist on each plan and what the server refuses — is on thePlans page of the documentation.
Billing, if you subscribe: your card, billing address and payment history are collected and held by Stripe (Link, LLC, the merchant of record), underStripe's privacy policy. langweave receives only the state of your subscription — whether it is active or in its free month, and when the current period ends — and Stripe's id for it.
Why, and on what basis
Everything above is processed to provide the service you signed up for (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): to weave your memory into your assistant's replies, record what was woven, and bill a subscription. langweave does not hold your email address. Billing emails — receipts, the trial-end and renewal reminders — come from Stripe. Account messages, and notice of changes to the terms or this policy, go to the address on your lexmem account and are sent through lexmem. There is no advertising and no profiling, and nothing is sold.
Who processes it, and where
- Vercel runs langweave's service, in its
fra1region (Frankfurt), and serves this website, the documentation and the app from its global network. - Neon hosts langweave's database, on AWS in
eu-central-1(Frankfurt). - lexmem keeps your account and your memory, in the same two regions, under its own policy; its processors — among them Resend, which sends its emails — are listed there.
- Stripe handles payments, as above.
langweave's data is stored in the EU. Vercel and Stripe are US companies; where your data reaches them outside the EU, the transfer relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long it is kept
What langweave keeps is kept until you ask for it to be deleted. If you cancel Standard, nothing is deleted: your words stay in your memory at lexmem, frozen as they were, until you subscribe again or delete your account. After deletion, data may remain in the database provider's restore history for up to 30 days. Stripe keeps billing records for as long as tax law requires it to.
Your rights, and how to use them
You can ask for access to your data, a copy of it in a portable format, its correction or deletion, the restriction of its processing, or object to it. Your memory is lexmem's: the app's Account page downloads all of it as one file and deletes your account and everything lexmem keeps for it, as lexmem's policy describes. Deleting the account there does not cancel a running subscription — cancel it on Billing first — and does not remove what langweave keeps (above): for that, or for a copy of it, write toprivacy@langweave.tech from the address on your lexmem account, before you delete it: langweave holds no address of its own, so it checks the sender against that lexmem account before acting. The request is handled by hand within 30 days.
If you think your data is mishandled, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD), or the authority where you live.
Cookies
langweave sets no cookie. The app keeps your sign-in in your browser's storage, which it needs to keep you signed in; the sign-in session cookie is lexmem's, set on its own site when you sign in there. This website and the documentation set none. There is no analytics and no third-party tracking on any of them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you by email to the address on your lexmem account, sent through lexmem, before the change takes effect and update the date at the top of this page.
